It particularly hit home as I recall what my daughter said to me about my 9-year-old grandson, now in fourth grade: "Dad, there's no such thing as a snow day any more!" If school's closed by snow (they live in Pittsburgh) kids have a virtual schedule for snow days, with periods and assignments, hours of busy work and activity. They have to sit at their Chromebooks for group video classes! My daughter said it's HORRIBLE for her as a parent because my grandson gets so bored that she has to sit shotgun during his school hours to make sure he doesn't do other stuff!!! I'm sure other parents mirror her sentiments.

It’s a great story. When I read it last week, his quote about kids inspired me to write this: http://thinkhuman.com/chrome-bumpers/
Your piece is superb. I forwarded it along with the typewriter article to everyone I like.
Wow, thank you. I'm grateful.
