I do the same. I see that AI can do it but for whatever reason, I feel compelled to write my own. I think the AI tends to write too much and when every commit looks wordy and long, they are a chore to look at later on.
The only place that isn't reviewed. Little missives, stray thoughts, tiny research. And insurance for "Why not just tries."
I would love for there to be some way to review commit messages - and suggest changes - alongside reviewing the code itself
These handcrafted 50- and 72-char messages end up squashed and forgotten. Somehow, this specific ephemerality is completely fine.
